Illinois Resident Mourns Slight Damage To His Favorite Multinational Chain Retail Outlets

WINNETKA, IL—Trying to hold back tears, Winnetka resident John Holden said Monday morning that he was absolutely devastated to see that repairable damage had been done to one of his favorite multinational retail corporations, Best Buy.

“It’s heartbreaking to see an emblem of our community destroyed,” said Holden, who had taken the Metra just a few years back to buy a router from the consumer electronics retailer in question, “I really hope the store can recover from this.”

Holden, a 41-year-old Business Analyst who works in Northbrook, told reporters that he was even preparing to take off work to help clean up some of the aisles of upscale home furnishing national conglomerate Pottery Barn, where merchandise had been thrown around haphazardly over the weekend, adding that, “I just can’t sleep until every fake plant, decorative pillow, sheepskin rug, and piece of styrofoam floating about in the parking lot is back in the store.”

Holden, who has never ventured south of Michigan Avenue, is just one of many brave residents volunteering to help tidy up the multi-million-dollar insured companies that had been broken into on the North Side.

Expressing that while it was sad that a few people had gotten hurt, he added that it was no reason to hurt the global retailers that had seen a 0.1% to even 0.2% dip in their profits over the past six months.

“During unprecedented times like this when a pandemic and recession has taken a toll on so many, it’s the neighborly thing to do to care about those places you visit three to four times a year.”

As of this afternoon, Holden was lamenting a rare, vintage bottle of Whiskey taken from chain store Binny’s.

“What people don’t realize is that some things are priceless, some things you can’t get just get back, some things have more than monetary value, they’re irreplaceable like human lives.”
