Company Celebrates Black History Month With 11am Pizza Party

DURHAM, NC—A local family-owned insurance company wanted to show their Black employees how much they appreciate them and decided to have a Black History Month celebration. For some reason, the owner thought it would be a good idea to commemorate Black History Month, or as some people call it, Black Christmas, by throwing a pizza party for the handful of Black employees.

The owner prides himself on being “woke” and “progressive.” Just last year, he provided Black employees with Rap Snacks and copies of Megan Thee Stallion’s mixtape for the month.

“Sure, this is kinda condescending," said employee Brandon Fellows. "But at least we get free Domino's. I heard they got a liter of Coke Zero too."

Not all employees are as buzzed about the celebration, which will be held in Conference Room C at 11 am this coming Friday.

"They cancelled diversity training for this party," said office manager Brenda Cummings. "Last quarter's training got cancelled because of a fire drill."

Other employees aren’t feeling the pizza party either.

“Black History Month is divisive. We don’t have a white history month,” said one white employee who wished to remain anonymous.

The owner of the company said he is doing his best to be an ally and end racism, much "like abolitionists during slavery" he assured us.
