Biden Endorses Ahmal as His Choice for Issa’s Boyfriend

Before the season finale of HBO's Insecure on Sunday, Democratic presidential nominee officially endorsed the character of Ahmal as Issa’s ideal boyfriend.

“I could no longer stand around and be quiet," said Biden as he shakily poured himself a cup of orange juice, forgetting he already had a full cup next to him. "Hopefully, my endorsement makes it easier on Issa and she will toss that lazy son of a gun Lawrence to the curb.”

The announcement, which was a clear ploy to invigorate black voters for the coming presidential election, came as a surprise seeing as Ahmal is Issa’s brother in the show, and also a gay man.

“These things don’t define who Ahmal is,” said Biden, eyes glossed over. “He is a strong, funny, handsome black fella who would make Isis an honest woman.” When asked to comment on the endorsement, Issa Rae, creator and star of the show said, “I’m not sure he understands what the show is about.”

“That’s simply not true. In fact, it’s poppycock. Of course I know what the show is about,” said Biden, rocking fervently in his chair. “It’s about a beautiful colored woman as she… you know… look, at the end of the day, I don’t see color. I don't see Los Angeles. I still use a black and white television set that I won from fighting my good friend Barney Quick Fingers behind the gas station. What was the question?"

Vice President Biden concluded his announcement by saying: “If you don’t think Ahmal and Issa belong together, you ain’t black! Please vote."
