2022 Wrapped: Your Top 50 Favorite Mass Shootings Of The Year

2022 Wrapped: Your Top 50 Favorite Mass Shootings Of The Year

Move over Baseball! The Mass Shooting is America’s new favorite pastime. 2022 has had the most mass shootings since we’ve begun keeping track and we still have time to run up the score. With 700+ mass shootings so far, this country hasn’t seen a craze this pervasive since The Cha Cha Slide. And like The Cha Cha Slide, you never know which large gathering someone will burst out with it (no pun intended). There were so many good ones to choose from (Chicago could have it’s own list) so we decided to narrow it down for you and chose our favorite 50 Mass Shootings of the Year.

50. Jan. 1, Various: 35 Americans were shot. Seven of which died. A promising start to the year!

49. Mar. 19, Dumas, AR: An altercation between two people kills a bystander and wounded 26 others, showing how both good and bad we are with guns.

48 & 47. Various Dates, Puerto Rico & U.S. Virgin Islands: Only three mass shootings between the two. They’re going to have to pick it up if they want to stay apart of this country and earn the right to vote!

46. Apr. 17, Golden Glades, FL: Easter Sunday. Because it’s what He would want.

45. Nov. 19, Colorado Springs, CO: Sure it was in the top 5 as far as total dead and injured, but at this point the gay nightclub shooting is so cliché. Where’s the originality? The imagination?

44-18. Various Dates, All 26 In Philadelphia: They were all so good, we couldn’t just pick one.

17. Apr. 15, Walnut Township, KS: 1 of 3 emotional mass shootings carried out by a woman compared to the calm, logical 700+ executed by men.

16-15. April 16-17, Various: 14 mass shootings in two days. A special stretch like this deserves to be listed together.

14. Your birthday, Various: What’s your birthday? Chances are there was a mass shooting on that day. If not, go the day before or after. There’s more than enough to go around.

13. Apr. 12, New York, NY: 12 past arrests, making terroristic threats, and years of bigoted online activity proved to be insignificant obstacles in hindering this mass shooter from easily purchasing a Glock 9mm in the state of Ohio. This would be difficult to do in other "first world" countries like Japan and New Zealand who have restrictive requirements such as “providing character references” or “a doctor’s note saying you are mentally fit” or “a license”. But not in this free nation.

12. Aug. 13, Raleigh, NC: Six teenagers shot at a party specific for teenagers. Our gun culture is in good hands with the youth.

11. Sep. 7 Memphis,TN: One of many mass shootings captured on live stream, which is sort of a metaphor of how we all watch these shootings happen with no real power to do anything about them.

10. July 4, Various: The birth date of our glorious country. It’s only right that it’s the day with the most mass shootings. USA!

9. November 22, Chesapeake: The perpetrator purchased the gun used in the mass shooting just a mere hours before. Thank goodness we live in a place where one doesn’t have to deal with unreasonable red tape like waiting periods.

8. July 1, Chicago, IL: No, not that one. The other one.

7. May 14, Buffalo, NY: Three and a half hour drive. Military grade body armor. Modified rifle. Crossing state lines to buy high capacity magazines illegal in his state. Apologizing to a white person he almost shot. Nothing was going to stop this white supremacist from his mission to kill as much black people as he could, including previous threats of murder/suicide and a psychiatric evaluation that would’ve banned him from purchasing a firearm had he been a little more specific about his threats. Thank God for loopholes.

6-2. Various Dates, Every School Shooting: A true American classic. The Mustang of mass murders. If our precious gun laws can withstand these, then lists like these will be here to stay.

1. TBD, The next one, maybe today? Because there’s always another one around the corner. Stay safe y'all.
