WWE 2K23 Announces Exclusive DLC 'Vince McMahon: Misconduct Allegations'

STAMFORD, CT—WWE 2K23 just released on all platforms and despite it being yet another disposable, yearly iteration in the 2K series, it is a return to form for the franchise, but not for reasons you might expect.

After an extra year of development and a lot of soul-searching, the series published its first DLC of the year, Vince McMahon: Misconduct Allegations. A bold detour from DLCs of the past, which consisted of reliving the Monday Night Wars, and following the storied career of Rey Mysterio Jr., developers deciding to focus on WWE’s patriarchal legal antics is undoubtedly a bold choice.

“It's one of the best releases by 2K Sports in years,” remarked Austin Hickenbottom of IGN. “I mean, I knew the man was garbage, but to be able to experience and navigate the accusations through his eyes? It’s jarring.”

Even when you try to make the right decisions, the game won't let you. You can only make the wrong choices. Gone are the days of the much-heralded kick-out mini-game. Now the player is stuck with a new mini-game: how fast the player can send a dick pic through the company email.

“And let's not even get started about the in-game court dates,” laments Twitch streamer, Burth Waller. “Having the ability to flip off and give both judge and jury a terrible Stone Cold Stunner that only Vince McMahon could deliver is worth the guilt you feel playing as an alleged abuser.”

It even has fun and very professionally put-together commentary from former women's wrestlers, both during and between matches, all of which are very specifically damning of ol' Vinny Mac. We also particularly like the transitions between real footage of the historical, overtly sexual backstage segments and gameplay—proving just how realistic the new graphics can be and how inaccurately we remember these segments as entertaining.
