Rep George Santos Revokes Claim To Have Dated Emily In Paris

New York U.S. Representative George Santos has again made headlines for misrepresenting his biography. Following false claims that his grandparents survived the Holocaust, his mother’s death was connected to the attacks on 9/11, and his animal rescue group Friends of Pets United is a text-exempt NPO, a probe into Santos’ relationship history reveals that he did not date Emily Cooper, better known as Emily in Paris.

In fact, Emily Cooper is a fictional character, making such a relationship impossible.

The openly gay congressman said that his relationship with Cooper was brief and took place in his youth, before she went to France and started emphasizing the “y” in her given name so that it would rhyme with the French pronunciation of Paris.

“Emily and I had a brief but meaningful relationship,” Santos said. “Unfortunately, it came to an end when I knew I couldn’t be with a shiksa.”

A team of investigative journalists quickly opened the Netflix app on their tablets to confirm that Cooper is not a real person. Further research revealed that Santos hasn't even met Lily Collins, who portrays Cooper in the show Emily in Paris.

“By ‘dated,’ I meant daTED,” Santos explained. “As in, there was a day I met a guy named Ted that coincided with me watching Emily in Paris.

“However,” Santos added. “I did invent the concept of sprayable champagne, so my sin is embellishing my relationship history.”
