Oops!... They Lied Again: NASA Uses Old Britney Spears Video Set For Mars Rover 'Landing' Photos

MARS, SPACE—Oops, they did it again!

Last week, NASA “landed” the "Perseverance Rover" on "Mars." Sure. However, the newly obtained footage looks eerily similar to Britney Spears’ iconic “Oops I Did It Again….” music video. Just saying!

Due to the pandemic, many companies and organizations have felt the financial burden. NASA is no exception. Space is a business, folks. Don't be naive. It seems to me that by reusing the 2004 video set to film their rover footage, NASA has managed to cut mission costs by at least a few hundred bucks. They're trying to hoodwink us! I won't stand for it.

An anonymous source from the Flat Earth Society claims that the set is the same one used for the moon “landing” but that one was just filmed in black in white so people wouldn’t get suspicious. Another person claiming to be a stylist for the set said, “the rover was initially supposed to be wearing a red latex suit for the shoot but due to creative differences, the rover went clad in aluminum.” Smart move, Rover!

It’s unclear what’s real and what’s not, but one thing is for certain: NASA’s Instagram has been blowing up. They’ve changed their feed aesthetic over from Earthy blues to orange-red Mars-y hues and even posted a picture of Perseverance wearing the heart of the ocean necklace. If you zoom in close, you can see the hashtag #FREEBRITNEY.

When we reached out for questions, NASA declined to comment but said you can get their merch at any remaining Limited Too stores.
