Japanese Anime From 1985 Predicted The Entire State of Michigan

ANN ARBOR, MI—Charlie Dudley, 28, heard the news that the Michigan State Board of Canvassers voted Monday to certify the 2020 General Election results, further confirming his suspicions that an obscure Japanese anime from 1985 had predicted the entire state of Michigan.

“Tebukuro Saga predicted absolutely everything that’s happened in Michigan for the past few decades,” said Dudley, as he adjusted his T-shirt depicting an anime girl in a pose too obscene to print, but not obscene enough to be censored on Japanese television. “The main character in 'Kuro is a 12-year-old kid who used to be rich but he loses everything when his family is killed off by the Japanese yakuza. His name? Detroit Auto-Manufacturing."

Adjusting his grip on a body-pillow he claimed was his wife, Dudley continued to list similarities between the forgotten anime and The Great Lakes State.

“By its third season, about 400 episodes in, the show was getting real bad ratings. The production ended up suing the rating company which was pathetic, but also, prophetic.”

At press time, Dudley showed off a rare figurine of a Tebukuro Saga character named Rick Snyder, of which only a few examples are known to exist due to the toy being recalled after it mismanaged the Flint Water Crisis and poisoned thousands of children with lead.
