Detective Squints At Blurry Security Footage, Says 'Wait, Go Back'

Every detective ever, when reviewing camera footage, they have to say ‘Wait, go back!’”

The consequences of such behavior have been long-lasting. It greatly irritates every video operator, per The Police Video Operator Monthly, an influential video operator newsletter published by Tim Jenkins, 56, a two-year veteran of police video operations.

"Two out of six video operators quit their jobs every five months. Police departments across the country are heavily affected by these shortages of video operators,” writes Jenkins in the latest issue of The Police Video Operator Monthlywhich had a feature on zooming in on grainy footage to make out a license plate number.

“Every fuckin’ time,” writes Joe Bastion, 67, a parking lot security guard from Texas. “Whenever they want to review fuckin’ footage from something, event, or whatever, they have to say ‘wait, go back!’ People now think all we do all day long is rewinding tapes for police officers just for them to make an amazing discovery that we previously missed! I'm pissed.”

We looked on the ‘Video Operators United – BE KIND AND DON'T REWIND!!’ Facebook group and we were horrified. So many video operators have posted similar stories. So, we sat down with two highly experienced detectives and we asked them about ‘Rewindgate.’

“We just like to fuck with them,” was the detectives’ response before asking to hear back their recorded interview. “Wait, go back for a second... There. Enhance voice. Yah, fuck you."
