MEMPHIS, TN—Oh my heavens! Jesus Lord, oh my! During a highly emotional sermon led by former megachurch pastor Devon Green, Jeffery Carver, 44, unexpectedly fell to the floor as he was playing the organ for the Church of God In Christ We Love weekly Sunday service.

Carver has been the sole organist at the church for the past ten years. Reportedly, this is the first time an incident like this has ever occurred.

“I used to preach in mega-churches all around the country. I don’t know what people are saying but this kind of thing happens all the time," said Pastor Green through the window of his white Cadillac. "Before Carver, a man named Miles Wilkins played the organ. Unfortunately, he just passed away. His wife said he had complications from acute osteoarthritis, I think? Shoot, ain’t nothin’ cute about that.”

Before he fell completely unconscious, the long-established organist could only recall the words of an unknown churchgoer who quickly rushed over to Carver after witnessing his collapse, “No, no, no! He can’t be dead. We still have three more hours to go!” said the churchgoer, fanning the falling man.

When Carver became conscious again, he spoke of vivid hallucinations he experienced during the time he was unresponsive such as seeing the organ play by itself and having a group of Sunday school children attack him.

“One of them kids yelled, 'we can hear the organ from inside our playroom! Why are you playing so aggressively?! It’s hurting us!” said Carver.

Carver was brought into one of three praise and worship rooms and claimed that he will return to playing the organ as soon as possible, against the advice of paramedics who rushed to the scene.

“Listen, I am here to promote praise to God first and tend to the needs of my seemingly fragile body and mental state second. Don’t worry, He’s got me. Now, I heard something about needing to show proof of insurance. I don’t got that, the Lord’s my only form of accessible healthcare. God bless y’all.”
