A True Romantic: This Guy Spelled Out The “You” in “You Up?”

PORTLAND, ME—Local young woman was floored this past week when a guy from the dating app Bumble actually spelled out the “You” in “You up?”

“I just really thought romance was dead," said Lauren Sam Bopston. “Like, we’ve been texting for three weeks and I kept hinting I wanted to go get dinner and then he texted me back, ‘What u wearinnnn I bored???’ Like I didn’t have high hopes for what it could be but everything changed when he spelled out that ‘you.’ Now, I think he could be the one!”

Lauren’s friend Samantha was there when Lauren received that special text.

“I’m just really happy for Lauren,” said Samantha, wearing a shirt that says, “Love Wins.” “She’s had a string of bad dates lately where the guys sometimes ran away mid-meal because she was crying about how her ex liked weed more than her but after getting this text, I think the odds are in her favor. I encouraged her to text him that night and I’m shipping it super hard. #Lovewins!”

“It’s just the fact that he put in that extra time to spell out a word. It shows how much he cares, ya know?”

When asked if she’ll see him again, Lauren said: “After we got together that night he hasn’t texted me back, but I assume when he does the spelling again will be on point aka he’s a good guy.” At Lauren’s home, a screenshot of the text is now hung over her bed.

Bumble recently promoted Lauren’s real-life love story on their website!
