‘He’s Got A Theragun!’ Police Officers Arrest Black Man At Equinox

FAIRFIELD, CT—For Isaiah Davis, it was just another Thursday afternoon at the luxury gym facility, Equinox. For the police, it was just another Thursday afternoon chasing black men out of town. Police received an anonymous tip about an alleged “intruder” at one of the county’s most famous workout spots.

Isaiah Davis, 36, had been fervently peddling on one of the facility’s eighteen Peleton bikes when he was suddenly pulled off the machine, brought to the ground, and arrested by Officers Harry Redding and Jack Kelly.

Redding, who had been the first to tackle Davis, assumed a device in his bag was a new type of manufactured weapon disguised as a wellness tool.

“He has a gun! I think it's one of those Theragun things!”

As Kelly proceeded to hold Davis down, he exclaimed. “Everybody watch out! Oh wait, I think my wife has one of those at home. Still! Stay the fuck down!”

Davis was promptly brought to the station and was asked for comment upon arrival, saying, “It’s a damn shame. I’ve been a member here for over three years! I was just in the middle of prepping for my weekly pilates class too. What am I gonna tell Ms. Patricia?!”

Witnesses revealed that they saw the arrest take place but didn’t inquire about what was going on because that's not proper “Equinox etiquette."

“At Equinox, every member is encouraged to have their own, individual experience. Whatever happens on the bikes, stays on the bikes,” said the manager of spa operations, Jennifer Windham.

“I was literally pulled off the bike,” Davis said in response. "That was my own, individual experience."

Officers Redding and Kelly were asked to comment on the situation as well but were apparently in the middle of a medal of honor ceremony for reporting to the scene as quickly as they did.
