Cast Of Uncle Drew Defeats Knicks In Season Opener

The NBA season got off to a fast start this year, as the Knicks opened up play against the league’s newest franchise, the cast and crew of the hit movie Uncle Drew. Despite solid performances by Knicks rookies Kevin Knox and Mitch Robinson, New York lost 108-92 to the Drews, in what has to be considered a disappointing start to the season.

The Drews were led by Tiffany Haddish, who dropped a stunning 30 points and 12 boards in her first-ever NBA game, and Nick Kroll, who chipped in with 16 points and 11 assists as well as a ferocious dunk on the Knicks’ Luke Kornet. Uncle Drew’s 3rd assistant best boy, Gavin, also had 18 points and iced the game with some crucial late free throws.

For the Knicks, this marks the start of a long season widely thought to be one where they will tank in order to acquire a top draft pick. Despite that, fans are still outraged that the team lost to opposition led by the talented duo of Kroll and Haddish — who have one BET Award, one People’s Choice Award nomination, and zero First Team All-NBA awards between them.

The Knicks will next play the Warriors on Tuesday, in a game being forecasted as “over before it has even begun.”
