Woman Laughs Out Loud At Insurance Commercial
WAYNE, PA—Heartbreaking news coming from a Pennsylvania couple’s home today. Taylor Rooney, a 27-year-old woman, laughed at an insurance commercial while watching TV with her boyfriend.
“I don’t know what happened,” Rooney says, seated at the scene of the crime. “I was here on the couch, watching basketball like any other weekend. I usually scroll through Twitter during commercials, but for some reason a Progressive ad grabbed my attention. I giggled at the premise like a total idiot. It was out of my control! Like an unexpected fart, but way more embarrassing.”
Rooney’s boyfriend, Anthony Fields, has made the brave decision to stand by his girlfriend during this difficult time.
“It’s a shock,” Fields confirms. “I was somehow able to keep calm during the laugh, even though the sound really caught me off guard. But then she asked me to go back and play the commercial again, and that’s when I realized we were in serious trouble. She was so far gone. Really out of her mind. We’re working through it.”
Although Fields is miraculously not repulsed by his girlfriend’s mortal sin, Rooney says she still feels dreadful after letting out a loud chortle during a prime time commercial.
“Is this who I am now? I honestly thought I was above this. Last week I claimed to be a ‘huge fan of absurdist alt-comedy.’ I signed up for Hulu just to watch the new Kate Berlant special. But it turns out I’m someone who cracks up at insurance commercials. This life altering laugh has made me rethink my entire identity.”

“Anthony’s been such a saint,” she says, through tears. “The laugh has changed everything for us. I basically aged 30 years in two minutes. I mean not to bring it back to the commercial again or anything, but Progressive keeps nailing it— we really do become our parents.”
