Wachowskis Reveal Original Draft Of Film Has Neo Destroying Matrix Simply By Installing Adobe Flash

HOLLYWOOD, CA—A little-known fact, but there are many deleted scenes in The Matrix, now a timeless sci-fi classic. As the producers and directors struggled with the complex storyline about a war with machines, they had to swap, change, and delete some of the scenes.

One of the biggest—and most controversial—deleted scenes was just two minutes long and represented the ultimate win of the human race over the machine race. The scene in question was the directors’ ending version, but they were quickly overpowered by the movie producers looking forward to movie sequels, prequels, and possible action figures.

The way the story was set up, Neo, once in the future, had re-learn almost everything by loading different software into his brain. Deleted scenes show Neo being loaded with software for restroom use initially, but they were removed to make space for fighting and jumping scenes. Once fully loaded with software, like a Sonic hot dog, Neo was ready to move around the Matrix and fight, except the directors had a completely different ending in mind.

The deleted scene in question shows Neo loading Adobe Flash software into his body in preparation for Agent Smith attacking him and sticking his hand deep inside his body. That would allow Adobe Flash to transfer from Neo to agent Smith. Adobe Flash is known for draining energy from devices, and it would be perfect for completely draining the Matrix of all of its energy, ipso facto: killing it.

The last few frames of the scene in question show an idyllic winter scene, a cabin covered with snow, and Neo hugging and then leaving agent Smith. We only assume that Neo was able to insert Adobe Flash into Agent Smith because after that the Matrix falls apart.
