Work Smarter! Jay-Z Invested In This Startup For A What What And Just Sold It For A Whoop Whoop
Count another win for rapper-turned-entrepreneur Jay-Z!
Marsailles Rosso, the wine delivery startup he purchased a minority stake in way back in 2015, was acquired Tuesday by Seagrams for a whoop whoop evaluation. FLEXX caught up with the Roc Nation head honcho to learn more about his latest venture.
“I hope these young black kids can [get a what what] find high-yield opportunities at the ground floor. That’s the question you always need to ask: Can I get a decent ROI? [Can ya, can ya, can ya,]” said the 48-year-old, who praised Marsailles Rosso for standing out in a crowded field of wine apps by allowing users to watch a live feed of the fermentation process.
“Instead of wasting money on new clothes, consider saving a couple million to put toward a Series A round. I just hope to see more rappers working smarter; not harder. Stop signing these 360 deals where the label takes a [whoop whoop] percentage of everything you earn.”
At press time, Roc Nation revoked FLEXX’s press pass.
