What Do You Mean I Need A Professional Website And Not An Ahegao Blog?
All resumes are pretty much digital now. I get that. It’s 2019, I can just attach a link to my portofolio right there on my social media bio, but… you’re telling me it can’t be the same link as my ahegao blog?
I have one website with two tabs. If people want to look at my career site, it’s right there. But if they know me as my pseudonym “Waifucc”, there’s a second tab for them. I don’t want to alienate them.
They say you should be able to “bring your whole self to work” — so what’s the problem here? And for what it’s worth, my ahegao career has been much longer in the making than my freelance graphic design career. So really, I’m just being true to myself. And in all honesty, I think my ahegao curation skills have made me a better artist, entrepreneur, and father.
When I was applying for a job at Sharper Image corporate, I was informed by an HR representative (Mandy) that they “admired” the work I put into my ahegao blog, but that it ultimately rendered me “unsuitable” and “hard to be around.” And I think they must have been looking at my early work, because my newest work involving Max (Goofy’s son) and the Iron Giant has gotten over 7,000 engagements!
