Shotgun Used In Kurt Cobain's Death Repurposed As Wind Chimes On Etsy

SEATTLE, WA—The Shotgun used by deceased lead singer of legendary grunge band Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, has been melted and repurposed as wind chimes selling now on Etsy.

“We’re happy to announce to take a sad piece of history and convert it into something beautiful," said Mark Zeeker, 43, owner of the Etsy page.

The Nirvana frontman was found on April 8, 1994, with a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound, with detectives concluding the death a suicide, a blow to the music fans everywhere. But self-proclaimed "DIYers" like Zeeker believe the melting of the gun will bring a new energy to the owner who receives them.

“I mean, I don’t want to be weird, but c’mon: look at how the clapper and tubes sit with each other. I don’t know, throw a cool Seattle breeze into the mix and you can say I’m definitely in bloom and come as I am. Also, I sell incense. Not from like a famous person or anything—just incense."

But some local residents aren’t happy with the melting, like Kurt Cobain Truther Sally Meyer.

“I agree we need cooler wind chimes in this day and age, but if you hear me say anything it’s that shotgun shells can’t melt Nirvana beams!”

The wind chimes were originally planned to be donated to the family that currently occupies the house Cobain took his life in, but officials were rebuffed.

“Nah, we don’t fuck with that white JuJu," said the patriarch of the Black family. "We were more Pearl Jam fans anyway.”
