Puppet From Blackstreet’s 1996 “No Diggity” Video Enjoying Recurring Appearance In Man’s Nightmares
Last Wednesday marked the fifth time in as many weeks that local man, Tim Chummins found himself ripped from a dead sleep by the recurring appearance of the puppet from Blackstreet’s 1996 “No Diggity” music video in his dreams.
The nightmares began after Chummins found a mixed CD in a box of middle school memorabilia. “I was cleaning out my closet and found a CD labeled ‘Dope Ear Sex’ so I thought I’d put it on while I organized. It had some real bangers on there like ‘Return of the Mack’ and ‘The Crossroads.’ But when ‘No Diggity’ came on, I remembered that music video. Now that damn puppet is all I can think about.”
The marionette from the 1996 Blackstreet music video has seemingly worked its way into many of Chummins regular anxiety dreams, a hollow-eyed Chummins reported while sipping on his fourth espresso of the morning. “I close my eyes and he’s just there, banging on a piano while wearing his little sunglasses. That’s when he’s not skittering around my middle school dance while I attempt to ask Lacy Seaver on a date. Then, in the dream, the puppet pulls my pants down and everyone laughs.”
At present time, Chummins is unsure about what to do regarding the constant barrage of No Diggity Puppet dreams. “My therapist has suggested that I watch the Billy Ocean “Loverboy” music video to see if that helps. Honestly, I’m ready to try anything,” said Chummins as he trailed off, singing to himself. “I can’t get him outta my mind. Wow. I think about the puppet all the time. Wow wow.”
