Lauryn Hill Arrives So Late For Glasgow 2019, She Arrives Early For Glasgow 2020
A bittersweet victory for European fans of hip hop icon Lauryn Hill, as they waited an entire 364 days for her to perform at the Playground Festival in Glasgow.
Hill was originally slotted to co-headline the 2019 Playground Festival with English rock band, Oasis (whose set was also cancelled due to internal fighting, but the cancellation was widely expected and generally encouraged by fans), but due to alleged “technical issues,” Hill actually ended up opening for the 2020 Festival.
“Complete shite,” said 2019 festival-goer Shane O’Leary, who waited a full 72 hours for Hill before giving up and going home. “She got the booing she deserved.”
2020 festival goers, however, felt a bit more appreciative of Hill’s loose interpretation of the concept of time.
“Good shite,” said Claire Tennison, who was luckily one of the 13 volunteers who arrived early to set up for the 2020 festival and was able to watch Hill perform in the parking lot, “She played all the hits for the event staff. It was a cracking morning.”
