Kendrick's "DAMN." Wins Pulitzer While My "FLABBIT." Barely Goes Bronze
I don’t know how this keeps happening. Kendrick and I have been neck and neck ever since my big album debut “Kid Trying His Best in C.R.A.A.Z.Y World.” Sure, yeah his blew up on the spot and mine was featured, very muffled, in a Zune commercial but still. We were on the same page.
Then our sophomore attempts came out. He found relative success with “To Pimp a Butterfly”, a dense, profound look at race relations in America. And I found less success with “To Pimp My Ride”, in which I just rate each of Xzibit’s car projects. Maybe it wasn’t great going all-in with a concept album of such high abstraction, but I went for it.
And now this? DAMN. winning a Pulitzer Prize? It’s a complete blatant rip off of my work FLABBIT. Even down to the track listing:
Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. track list:
My FLABBIT. track list:
- THE TWIRL BOYS.
- YOU BETCHA.
- HUSTLE, LOYALTY, RESPECT
- I FEEL GOOD.
- MR. BRIGHTSIDE.
- xXx Return of Xander CAGE.
- WOW, LOOK HOW FLAT THE EARTH IS.
Can I get a win here? Please? I need one ever since I got son’d by Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
