Friend’s Story Almost 70% “Da-Da-Da-Da”

On Saturday, Demi Simmons and Lucy Rodgers met for their customary brunch. Simmons had just returned from a wild wedding and was excited to recap. It wasn’t until the end of the brunch that Rodgers finally noticed her friend’s story was almost 70 percent “da-da-da-da.”

“It felt like anytime we were about to get to something especially juicy, she would hit me with the ‘da-da-da-da.’” said Rodgers. “There’s just very little suspense. And great stories need suspense.”

According to Rodgers, Simmons’ story started off strong with the mention of the open bar at the wedding. Then when she introduced a potential love interest named Damien, things really got exciting. But suddenly, Simmons hit her with a “da-da-da-da” through the initial conversation with Damien and jumped straight to them having sex on the hotel balcony.

“Life is short. People want the highlights. I can’t get bogged down in every little word,” said Simmons. “So, I use ‘da-da-da-da.’ I used to really like ‘so on and so forth’ but ‘da-da-da-da’ allows me to cut out one syllable.”

At press time, Simmons was heard tactfully using a “da-da-da-da” to skip through explaining how at the wedding she tried coke for the second time and it wasn’t as bad as the first time.
