Couple Meets, Divorces At Same Lauryn Hill Concert
Opening up about their relationship for the first time since the concert ended, Anderson Spencer Coleman and Ella Turner dialed into FLEXX’s love hotline Thursday to confirm the couple had met, married, and divorced at the same Lauryn Hill show.
“When I met Andy in line outside the show, I thought he was kind of goofy and considered him as more of a friend, but I started to develop feelings as time went on and we saw each other more and more. Whenever I ran into him at a concessions stand or at the spot where you can charge your phone, the energy was always good,” said Turner, 29, during an 8-minute voicemail. Turner went on to say, “I expected Lauryn Hill to be obnoxiously late, but I didn’t expect to meet and lose the love of my life in that time.”
When Coleman was reached for comment he stated, “it wasn’t until the opener hit the stage that I realized me and Ella might have something special. I looked over at my guy Chris and tapped him on the shoulder like ‘Wake up, bruh, I think I found The One,’ It just so happens that you only need a week to become an ordained minister, so Chris went through that whole process while the DJ was spinning. He married us right there on the spot.”
Both parties agreed that the relationship began to suffer over a lack of proper boundaries. “After a while, it felt like we were in this holding pattern with nowhere to go. We started to suffocate each other, spending all that time in the same section of the arena,” said Coleman. Turner fought back tears while describing the moment she knew the relationship was over:
“We were all chanting ‘Lau-ryn, Lau-ryn, Lau-ryn,’ and I realized our marriage revolved around this total stranger. Who were we without the Queen of Rap? I tried to make it work for a while just so the kids could watch Lauryn Hill, but eventually I tired out.”
But in the end both Coleman and Turner said the biggest regret of their marriage was that they never actually got to watch Lauryn Hill. No one did. Her chakras were not aligned.
